Senior Clinical Director - Enterprise Occupational Health

The Senior Clinical Director effectively directs and oversees U.S.-based Caregiver Occupational Health Services by applying evidence-based care and world class occupational health, safety and wellness services and programs. Works with Medical Director and leadership to ensure oversight and monitoring of clinical protocols, daily operations, and finances in all locations. Advises global locations on policy / procedure, clinical services, and program alignment. Serves as a strategic partner across the enterprise to ensure Occupational Health services and program goals and associated regulatory compliance are met.

A caregiver in this position works days, 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

Perform strategic analysis of enterprise-wide Occupational Health current and future locations to direct the development and implementation of consistent operating procedures and clinical services and programs for health system integration and alignment.

Collaborate with Medical Director and department leadership to define strategic department directives, development of business goals, leveraging best practices and technology to support continuous improvement, budget review, personnel management and staff development, monitoring of productivity and core metrics.

Maintain active clinical practice and system wide hospital privileges as licensed independent practitioner and primary resource for clinical oversight, consultation, and provider of record for the implementation of direct clinical services enterprise wide. Serves as content expert for policies, standard operating procedures, standing orders, and guidelines.

Direct multi-disciplinary, comprehensive caregiver centered programs and provides supervision, leadership, and guidance to midlevel providers, nurse managers, program coordinators, nursing, and support staff.

Maintain knowledge of FMLA, ADAA, STD, LTD, WC regulations to direct oversight for disability plan nurses and workers' compensation nurse case managers in collaboration with respective department leadership to provide continuity of care with absence management and benefit administration, and case management practices.

Work in a collegial relationship with professional staff and colleagues and serves as a resource for enterprise-wide program development and evaluations.

Act as a consultant for complex issues, recognizes decision points, and takes a multi-disciplinary approach when appropriate to include HR Administration, Operations, Legal, Quality, Nursing, Clinical Institutes, or IT to strategize and provide resourceful solutions.

Participate on key organizational committees throughout CCHS.

Ensure enterprise-wide departmental compliance with federal, state, local and internal regulations / standards.

Assume responsibility for the department's fiscal planning, budgeting, and related financial functions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Master's degree required.

Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Ohio.

A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Occupational Health or ambulatory health care.

A minimum of 5 years managing health services within a multi-site, geographically dispersed health care system to include 5 years of experience in budgeting financial forecasting, assessment of cost effectiveness of systems, planning and management of space and equipment, supervision, staff planning and implementation of systems. Experience in managing Occupational Health services including authoring policies and guildelines is preferred.

Proven leadership in managing relationships across the enterprise is also critical to success in this position.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse with a working knowledge of Workers Compensation.

Physical Requirements :

Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Manual and finger dexterity, with eye / hand coordination.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Travel to regional hospitals required.
