Chaplains provide spiritual support to patients, families and caregivers, helping facilitate spiritual healing and enhance well-being. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this role will work varying hours as needed with Saturday and Sunday availability.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide education and consultation for physicians, nurses and other caregivers.
- Offer spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and caregivers of all faith groups, ages and conditions.
- Foster spiritual resources for healing.
- Provide crisis and ongoing care.
- Work regular and on-call hours.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Offset: Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education with expectation to get four (4) CPEs within two (2) years of hire
- Credentialing, certification, or eligibility within two (2) years by a certifying organization or certification as an Association of Clinical Pastor Education (ACPE educator)
- One (1) year of ministry experience required
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Master’s of Divinity or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
- In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
- In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $24.50
Maximum hourly: $24.50

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
