The Pre-Analytics Processing Technician is responsible for manually processing laboratory specimens, performing daily quality assurance activities, and maintaining equipment. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $29.30

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Receive and accession specimens into the LIS (Lab Information System).
- Prepare specimens for analysis.
- Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solving functions, and issue resolution.
- Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
- Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
- Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
- Perform basic clerical functions (i.e., answering phones).
- High School Diploma or GED and one year of lab experience
- Associate's degree, preferably in a science related field (this may substitute the one year of experience needed above)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
- May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.
- Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.
- Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.
