As a Nursing Operations Manager, you will serve as the primary resource for circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution, or referral. In this role, you will work closely with Perioperative Services, the Emergency Department, command center physicians, and other departments, serving as a key liaison and coordinating critical operational needs. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with rotating weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Serve as administration on-site and as a responsible agent for any circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution, or referral.
Initiate, prioritize, and resolve situations that impact patient care delivery, the safety of patients, visitors, and caregivers through collaboration with departments.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Monitor and adhere to the annual hospital operating budget.
Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of professional nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
Two to three years of experience in acute care
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's degree in nursing or a related field
Five years of experience
One year of experience in a management role
Leadership/charge nurse experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
