Materials Handlers are responsible for maintaining parts inventory, ordering materials from vendors and issuing tools to Maintenance personnel. In this role, you will help support Cleveland Clinic’s mission to provide patients with the best healthcare experience possible. You will also have opportunities to explore other Supply Chain positions and professional/educational development resources.
A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm, no weekends or holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas and prioritize deliveries.
Document variances and damaged goods received.
Inspect and count freight.
Resolve incomplete deliveries and other problems with purchasing and accounting.
Use computers to process receiving documentation.
Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizes deliveries, sorts, and labels.
Properly packs and determines method of shipment.
Use installed systems: to receive storeroom stock items, inspect items for damage and verify accuracy of shipment.
Document discrepancies on purchase order and submits to supervisor.
Handle rush storeroom orders.
Maintain the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with vendor representatives, conduct business according to established principles and guidelines.
Stock picking locations, rotate stock to minimize loss of materials and pick storeroom orders.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Must meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements
Valid Driver's License (VDL) to drive box trucks
Inventory knowledge and basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One to two years materials management experience
Can drive up to 20-foot box truck for certain locations

Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
Requires frequent sitting, standing and walking to various locations to attend meetings.
Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
Must have own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $15.00
Maximum hourly: $18.44
