In this role, you will process samples, perform waived laboratory testing and direct the workflow within the lab.
A caregiver in this position works a day/evening rotation from 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Minimum hourly: $17.95
Maximum hourly: $25.50

A caregiver in this position works a day/evening rotation from 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform various laboratory procedures.
- Assist with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, transporting and storing specimens.
- Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Perform quality assurance activities.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and manage the inventory by transporting and distributing supplies.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies
- Histology or microbiology lab assistant background
- Previous experience in a lab
- Histology experience
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity when handling specimens and utilizing instrumentation.
- Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials to which they may be exposed.
- Requires frequent sitting or standing.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
