This Neuro Epilepsy program offers compelling competitive differentiators. The unit supports highly specialized care, including stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG) with deep brain electrode placement for advanced surgical evaluation. Patients are admitted for new epilepsy diagnoses, surgical interventions, or complex medication management, creating a rich and varied clinical environment. The new Neuro Institute (NI) model brings all neuro patients and services under one roof, fostering unprecedented collaboration across departments, streamlined diagnostics (MRI and other advanced studies), and direct access to emerging research and innovative treatment options. Additionally, Unit 52 will remain open for highly complex epilepsy cases, providing opportunities to expand neuro expertise and collaborate across pediatric and adult populations.


On a daily basis, the Assistant Nurse Manager facilitates communication among nursing staff, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include real-time clinical support, evaluation and coaching of nursing staff, performance management, and initial corrective actions when needed. You will partner with Nurse Managers to address unit-based operational and patient care issues, monitors attendance and workflow concerns, and proactively escalates significant clinical or performance matters—positioning this role as both a clinical expert and a key operational leader within a cutting-edge neuro epilepsy program.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00pm—7:30am| night shifts | 36 hours.


A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. 

  • Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. 

  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. 

  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers. 

  • Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues. 

  • Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. 

  • Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees. 

  • Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines. 

  • Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures. 

  • Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area. 

  • Prepare schedule of work assignments, assuring adequate coverage on all shifts. 

  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcome studies and research initiatives. 

  • Participate in department groups and committees as assigned. 

  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: 

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) 

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Certification must be presented upon hire. 

  • Two years of recent clinical nurse experience 

  • Demonstratable clinical knowledge and skills; oral, written and interpersonal skills; and strong analytical and organization skills 


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $37.50

Maximum hourly: $57.60

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).

Salary : $1,000 - $1,000,000
