Summary Of Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment, utilizing clear, effective communication and coaching skills.
- Provide leadership by guiding and supporting team members to overcome obstacles.
- Lead projects and multidisciplinary teams to support continuous improvement and reduction of waste.
- Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis, problem solving, expertise in an area of responsibility, metallurgical/mechanical concepts, and knowledge of customer operations/markets.
- Monitor product and process variability while performing to standards with a focus on improving practices and product performance.
- Meet with customer representatives or processors to provide innovative and timely solutions to quality and reliability issues.
- Deliver technical solutions to internal and external customers using your understanding of manufacturing process and product capabilities.
- Work closely with other operational and technical departments to drive results.
- Communicate with upstream and downstream operations to improve practices and performance.
- Various other duties, as needed, to support the business.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Metallurgy, Material Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, preferably materials manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of metallurgical principles and steel defect origins.
- Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- 8 years experience in materials manufacturing, preferably metals.
- Demonstrated success in defining and resolving problems.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment.
