Section Manager Maintenance

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel is looking for a Section Manager Maintenance Shops at our Butler, PA operation. The Section Manager is responsible for giving technical and administrative support as needed and collaborate with Shift Managers and Maintenance supervision to meet objectives.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Assists the Manager with planning effective use of departmental facilities and manpower in providing services to the Butler Works which consists of repairing and upgrading various mill equipment. Utilizes department resources and is aware of outside contracting resources and capabilities.
• Maintains safety as the number one objective of all employees.
• Administers the planning and scheduling of manpower as necessary to perform the section functions in a timely and effective manner. Checks adherence to standard practice through periodic inspection and daily review of subordinate reports. Issues and follows up on orders or instructions regarding practices and directs changes as necessary.
• Arranges work schedules and changes schedule as necessary to meet emergency situations.
• Assists in the setting of objectives for the various departments and constantly strives to control costs and attain these objectives.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of Safety Policies and Fundamentals, Quality Management, Equipment Functionality, Process Operations, and Material knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Mechanical/electrical/electronic/hydraulic troubleshooting experience and skills.
• Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision within the allotted time and budget.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Significant managerial experience including safety, quality, cost management and budgeting.
• Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis .
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a union environment.
• Ability to evaluate problems, correctly focus the resources and make efficient decisions.
• Five years’ experience in steelmaking environment preferably with Maintenance experience.
