Quality Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs is currently seeking a qualified Engineer to join our Cleveland Works Quality team at the facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality steel products, including hot-rolled steel, cold-reduced galvanized, and galvannealed coated products, serving the automotive, appliance, and other industrial markets.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Input steel routings into plant manufacturing systems
• Lead the disposition of held materials
• Provide support for Quality Management initiatives, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), corrective actions, and measurement device oversight
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Cleveland plant
• Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries related to product quality
• Coordinate with other quality teams across Cleveland-Cliffs facilities
• Conduct data analysis to assess and improve product capability
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective typing and data entry skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
• Experience working in a unionized environment
