Associate Environmental Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs, Cleveland Works has an immediate opening for an Associate Environmental Engineer at the Cleveland, OH facility, in our Environmental department. This role is responsible for providing engineering support for our environmental program to continuously improve performance in Cleveland.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Interpret environmental regulations and determine impact on the facility.
• Develop and implement environmental strategies, plans, and procedures.
• Assist with environmental projects and provide technical direction to plant departments.
• Assist with the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
• Prepare appropriate internal and external reports and timely submit utilizing proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as various internal computerized systems.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Participate in environmental-related investigations.
• Communicate environmental information.
• Maintain environmental records, including OSHA recordkeeping.
• Assist in the development of emergency response plans.
• Update training data, manuals, and reference materials.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental-related field.
• Must be willing to walk/climb throughout all mill areas.
• Must be willing to work at heights.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing or steel industry experience.
