Senior Quality Engineer

Cleveland-CliffsClevelandWorkshas an immediate opening foraSenior Quality Engineerin ourCleveland Works facility.The following primary position responsibilitiesand key position requirements are intendedto provide an overview of theposition butare notall-inclusive.Cleveland Cliffs Cleveland Works produces hot rolled steel as well as cold reduced, galvanized andgalvannealedcoated products for automotive, appliance and other markets. This position is within the Quality department.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Abilityto work effectively within a team environment,utilizingclear and effective communication and coaching skills.

• Provide leadership by guiding and supporting team members to overcome obstacles.

• Lead projects and multidisciplinary teams to support continuous improvement and reduction of waste.

• Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis, problem solving,expertiseinareaof responsibility, metallurgical and mechanical concepts, and knowledge of customer operations and markets.

• Monitor product and process variability and performance to standards with a focus on improving practices and product performance.

• Meet withinternal and external customerstodetermineroot causesofquality and reliability issues and provide customers with timelyand robustsolutions.

• Deliver technical solutions to internal and external customers by understanding manufacturing and product capability.

• Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, planning, and other technical resources to driveimprovement.

• Communicate with upstream and downstream operations to improvepracticesand performance.

• Various other duties, as needed, to support the business.

MinimumQualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Materials Science, Metallurgy, orcloselyrelated discipline.

• Minimum 5yearsexperiencein manufacturing, preferablymaterialsmanufacturing.

• Exceptionalcommunication skillsanddetailorientationare essential.

• Solid computer skills andproficiencyin Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• Must be comfortable working in a heavy industrial / mill environment.

PreferredQualifications:

• 8 yearsexperienceinmaterials manufacturing, preferably metals.

• Demonstrated success in defining and resolving problems.

• Experience with quality assurance in automotive or appliance supply chains.

• Experience withIATF16949,ISO 9001, ISO 17025,or similar quality standards.

Relocationassistancemay be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based onnumerousfactors including, but not limited to, relevanteducation, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
