Sales Representative

Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Sales Representative at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling flat-rolled metal products to industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone, e-mail and in-person to qualify leads and sell products and services.
• Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
• Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
• Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain customers' relationships.
• Prepare reports of business transactions.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
• Travel to and attend trade shows.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Previous supervisor experience
• Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent customer oral and written communication skills
• Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making
• Collaborative; builds and works with teams
• Ability to coach and mentor
• Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
