CNC Machining Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:
The CNC Machining Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of ATM's machine shop — owning production scheduling, quality output, equipment utilization, and team performance. You will be the bridge between sales-driven RFQ demands and shop-floor execution, working closely with our quoting and sales team to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct daily shop floor operations and production scheduling
Program, set up, and oversee 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes
Manage and mentor a team of machinists and operators
Ensure on-time delivery and adherence to customer specifications
Maintain and enforce ISO quality standards and inspection protocols
Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing tolerances
Collaborate with sales/quoting team on capacity and lead times
Manage tooling inventory, equipment maintenance, and shop 5S standards
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap
Required:
5 years CNC machining experience; 2 years in a supervisory role
Proficiency in CNC programming (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software)
Strong GD&T knowledge and blueprint reading skills
Experience with Haas, Mazak, or Fanuc-controlled machines
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
Hands-on leader with strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
Aerospace, defense, or medical device machining background
Familiarity with DFARS material requirements
Experience with ERP/MES or digital quoting platforms (e.g., AMFG)
AS9100 or ITAR compliance experience a strong plus
