DUTIES: (Summary Only) Designs and administers on-going individualized or group therapy sessions to assist students in reaching identified language, speech augmentative or communication objectives and social communication (e.g., determines appropriate therapy and assistive technology, works directly with students through direct communication, vocalization, object communication, group discussion, sign language, assistive technology, and communication systems to develop and improve speech or communication skills). Measures and assesses communicative abilities and disabilities and/or appropriateness of augmentative communication systems and devices for students and prospective students (e.g., uses various equipment to test speech and hearing capabilities, administers tests and observes to evaluate language, speech and hearing levels or communication abilities); lifts, and positions students in a safe manner using proper lifting techniques; interprets and documents results of tests administered; recommends appropriate placement of students based on communicative abilities or disabilities. Assists in the developing IEP goals for students; communicates with families/caregivers, other school staff or community professionals regarding communication goals and progress; evaluates and documents progress in all facets of programming and modifies programs as necessary; may conduct home visitations to discuss language development program and to observe home environment; may serve as member of interdisciplinary team. Prepares lessons to address speech, hearing, language development and communicative abilities, needs and goals of student; develops teaching or augmentative communication aids and materials; maintains records of student progress. May conduct in-service education programs or other training to instruct staff and/or families/caregivers on language development, speech, and hearing, and/or communication abilities and disabilities; may accompany students and/or families/caregivers to physician or hospital for testing or treatment; performs other related duties as required; serves as resource to staff, families/caregivers, or other relevant persons. Works cooperatively with other staff, parents, caseworkers, family members, medical personnel, etc. to achieve student goals and programming as identified by IEP; facilitates communication with students through sign language, picture communication, etc.  May administer oral and topical medication(s) to students, after receiving appropriate training, and when delegated by a Registered Nurse employed by the Board. Develops and demonstrates knowledge of current developments in field to provide most beneficial client care (e.g., participates in Employer provided training, etc.) 

QUALIFICATIONS: Current State of Ohio licensure as speech language pathologist; must also have Professional Pupil Services License issued by ODE.  Must be physically able to lift, carry, and position children in a safe manner, perform crisis interventions.  Required to have valid CPR and First Aid if transporting individuals; Successfully pass pre-employment criminal background check, Abuser Registry check, Nursing Registry check, and post-offer/pre-employment physical exam with drug testing and agility test.  SALARY: $39.33 - $47.20  APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until Filled position starts 2026-27 school year.
