The Rendering Supervisor leads shift operations in a specialty rendering department within an integrated pork-processing facility. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently converting pork by-products into rendered fats, grease, and protein ingredients for downstream use to pet food while meeting production, quality, sanitation, compliance, and cost expectations. The supervisor leads hourly team members, coordinates with maintenance and partner departments, and owns process execution from incoming material through finished-product storage and loadout.

- Lead and direct rendering employees on an assigned shift in a hands-on floor leadership role.
- Oversee by-product flow through grinding/size reduction, cooker feed, moisture removal, fat/solid/water separation, storage, and loadout.
- Monitor throughput, yields, material usage, downtime, housekeeping, and finished-product quality.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance and technical support.
- Enforce safety expectations including lockout/tagout, safe equipment operation, audits, and incident reporting.
- Ensure compliance with plant food/feed safety programs, HACCP-related expectations, sanitation requirements, and required documentation.
- Train, coach, cross-train, and hold team members accountable for safety, performance, attendance, and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate shift handoff notes, reports, timekeeping, and production records using plant systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Partner with harvest, sanitation, quality, wastewater, shipping, and maintenance to keep the rendering operation running reliably.
- Direct rendering experience in meat, protein, or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
- Leadership experience in production, rendering, wastewater, or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical and process aptitude; able to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Experience working in demanding environments (odors, moisture, variable temperatures, etc.).
- Ability to lead small teams, manage conflict, and hold employees accountable.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, SAP or similar systems).
- Willingness to work a Saturdays schedule based on department needs.
