Clemens Food Group is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance leader to oversee second shift FSQA operations at our Hatfield, PA, pork processing facility. This position, internally titled FSQA Superintendent, serves as the senior Food Safety authority on the second shift within a USDA-regulated meat-processing environment.
This role leads the execution of HACCP programs, regulatory compliance, and food safety initiatives while partnering closely with Operations to maintain product integrity, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team on 2nd shift, including supervisors and QA technicians
- Ensure compliance with USDA / FSIS regulations, HACCP programs, SSOPs, and GMP standards
- Manage product holds, foreign material investigations, and corrective actions (CAPA)
- Prepare for and support USDA, customer, and third-party food safety audits
- Partner with Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Engineering to drive food safety culture
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume protein manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- 5 years leadership experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or FSQA
- Experience in USDA-regulated meat, poultry, seafood, or protein processing facilities
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and regulatory compliance programs
- Proven leadership of QA supervisors and technicians
- Experience managing food safety incidents, product holds, and regulatory investigations
Preferred Experience
- SQF, BRC, or other GFSI audit exposure
- Experience in high-volume meat or poultry processing facilities
- Strong background in root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Schedule
Second Shift: typically 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
