The Manager – ESM responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of all apparatus, protection systems and metering equipment in distribution substation and lines, transmission substations, and generation stations. The manager will lead and guide the daily work of technical staff, monitor progress, and hold them accountable to defined project milestones and excellent customer service. Works with team to mitigate potential hazards of all work processes. Key Responsibilities Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence Ensure that apparatus and protective systems are installed and maintained in a safe and cost efficient manner and meets all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance requirements. Ensures the staff strives to achieve World Class Safety Performance by maintaining a safe working environment for employees and contractors, complying with all safety rules, procedures, and regulations and creating a culture of safety in the workplace and jobsite. Achieve efficient and effective maintenance of all apparatus and protection systems to maintain reliability of the bulk electric system. Plans and schedules maintenance activities to minimize outage times and maximize resource efficiency. Uses KPI’s to reduce cost, improve efficiency, increase productivity, and maximize resource utilization. Collaborates with support engineers to develop comprehensive maintenance standards, procedures, processes, and metrics ensuring alignment with broader function frameworks. Manage their maintenance activities P&L targets and operating budget, working with other ESM Managers and Directors to track towards overall functional goals. Assures maintenance database (SAP) integrity and consistency needed so as to track the maintenance life of equipment and to identify repeated maintenance problems with equipment. Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, or 8 years of equivalent work experience 5 years relevant experience, with prior supervisory/management experience preferred Knowledge and technical expertise in utility distribution and maintenance with an understanding of the key drivers for safe, reliable, cost effective and compliant operation Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism Ability to interact with all levels of employees to address difficult issues Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities Ability to operate effectively and proactively with an employee centric mindset Detail-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution Excel at delivering change management to ensure the change is sustainable and the benefits are realized Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret KPIs/metrics and derive insights into actionable opportunities Drive issues to resolution while maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and technology trends This level is based only on availability in approved org design/structure; strict adherence is required.
