ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Design and implement pre-season screening and dynamic warm-up programs.

• Evaluate acute and chronic injuries on-site during practices and games.

• Provide first aid, emergency care, and sideline management of injuries (sprains, strains, contusions, etc.).

• Apply protective taping, bracing, and other modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ice, heat) as prescribed.

• Develop individualized rehabilitation protocols in coordination with team physicians.

• Monitor athlete progress, adjust programs, and document milestones toward full participation.

• Attend all home games, road trips, and team travel, ensuring coverage for practices, workouts, and games.

• Maintain sideline readiness: stocked medical kit, emergency action plan, and communication with coaching staff.

• Maintain accurate, confidential medical and treatment records in accordance with HIPAA and team policy.

• Educate players and coaches on injury prevention, nutrition basics, hydration strategies, and off-season conditioning.

• Collaborate with strength & conditioning staff to integrate rehabilitation exercises into overall training.

• Oversee maintenance and inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and treatment spaces.

• Ensure sanitation and safety protocols are followed in training and treatment areas.

• Assist with special events (e.g., youth clinics, community outreach) by providing sports medicine support.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

• All other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.

• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential through NATABOC; current Texas AT license.

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.

• 2 years of athletic training experience, preferably in collegiate or professional baseball.

• Strong knowledge of baseball-specific biomechanics, injury patterns, and conditioning principles.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with athletes and staff.

• Able to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and travel extensively throughout the season.

• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and sports medicine software.

• All other duties as assigned.
