- Assist residents and patients with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and skin care to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
- Support mobility needs by using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensuring safe transfer techniques per resident care plans.
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition, including skin integrity or signs of discomfort.
- Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
- Document care provided accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like PCC, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to facility policies on sanitation and safety procedures.
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic vital signs assessment.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as long-term care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like PCC for documentation purposes.
- Compassionate caregiving skills with experience supporting individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and handling infectious disease cases.
