We are seeking a skilled Welder to perform structural welding using Stick Welding (SMAW) with 6010 and 7018 rods. This role requires precision, physical ability, and strict adherence to safety standards in marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural welding using SMAW with 6010 and 7018 rods.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Read and interpret plans and drawings; visualize objects in three dimensions.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria and inspection standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
Physical Skill and Effort
- Work easily and skillfully with hands.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- See well (naturally or with corrective lenses).
- Climb and maintain balance on high ladders and scaffolds.
- Stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required for the task.
- Pass screening for vision and hearing.
Working Conditions and Hazards
- Work may be performed in overhead positions, confined spaces, and at elevated heights.
- Exposure to industrial hazards including heat, sparks, and electrical risks.
- Knowledge of and compliance with:
- General Industrial & Commercial Safety
- Basic Plus Safety
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined Space Entry Procedures
- Basic Electrical Safety
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience with SMAW welding (6010 and 7018 rods required).
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Certification(s) in welding preferred but not required.
