Cleaver Brooks is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support high-visibility IT initiatives focused on developing and deploying new enterprise technology capabilities. This role will lead the project management lifecycle, collaborating closely with IT and cross-functional business teams to deliver solutions that enhance operational performance and drive digital modernization.
This is a temporary individual contributor role with no direct reports, working closely with IT, business partners, and extended resources across Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and other functional teams.
Essential Duties
Project Plan Management
- Maintain and update project tasks, milestones, and dependencies
- Drive accountability with project resources on task completion
- Monitor the critical path; proactively identify acceleration opportunities
- Manage cross-team dependencies and sequencing
Technical Release & Deployment Management
- Facilitate prioritization of system features, enhancements, and requirements
- Support release governance and scope management
- Schedule and coordinate release planning and readiness reviews
- Track, document, and prioritize defects and break/fix items
- Enforce formal change management procedures
Project Execution & Delivery
- Apply Agile and hybrid SDLC methodologies for planning and execution
- Track and mitigate risks, issues, and resource constraints
- Maintain project artifacts, status updates, and documentation
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and validation activities
- Monitor project time, labor reports, and cost tracking
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders
- Provide clear and timely communication on progress, risks, and decisions
- Support organizational readiness and internal project communication
Roadmap & Future Planning
- Contribute to multi-phase IT project roadmaps
- Build supporting plans for upcoming releases, enhancements, or systems
- Manage concurrent project plans aligned to enterprise IT priorities
Required Skills
- Experience managing technical or enterprise system projects
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Experience supporting release cycles or system implementation teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, MS Project, and Visio
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across IT and business
- Comfort with decentralized teams and virtual communication tools
- Self-starter with strong ownership, initiative, and follow-through
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree a plus.
Experience: 5 years or more in IT environment. 3 years or more managing IT related projects. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Project Management certification preferred. Experience with IFS ERP Applications a plus.
