The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations. This role maintains accurate audit ready financial records, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with accounting policies and standards.

- Codes, reviews and posts vendor invoices, as needed.
- Performs audits and regular follow-ups to ensure all invoices are processed timely and accurately.
- Prepares and maintains bank and general ledger account reconciliations and investigates variances for correction.
- Processes bank/check related functions, such as deposits, voids, cancels, reissues, bank lookup, file processing, balancing and controlling.
- Reviews weekly check runs.
- Performs various administrative tasks, as needed (i.e.: answering telephones, filing, and performing vendor maintenance).
- Prepares and posts general journal entries, as necessary.
- Prepares and posts VCC transactions.
- Continuously reviews AP processes to ensure efficiency, and makes recommendations for improvement, as needed.
- Assists with month end close, as directed.
- Ensures new vendor enrollments are complete and comply with Company policies.
- Reviews all contracts are ensures they are entered in the system and appropriate journal entries are generated.
- Provides general support to the accounting team, as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of data.
- Ensures vendors are paid timely and in accordance with invoicing terms.
- Maintains “audit-ready” vendor files, as per departmental standards.
- Develops and maintains reports, as directed.
- Checks and responds to work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
- Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study WITH at least three (3) years of progressive accounting experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
- Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.

- Two (2) years’ prior experience working with accounting software.
- Prior experience working in a related position within the healthcare field.

Compensation And Benefits
- Pay Range: $65,000/year - $75,000/year
- PTO: Up to 96 hours in first year (pro-rated based on start date)
