ClearWay Electric is a fast-growing electrical contractor focused on EV charging infrastructure, panel upgrades, and energy projects. We are building not just a contracting business, but an operational platform (ClearWay OS) that will redefine how trades operate.
We are looking for a strong operator to take full ownership of field operations and scale delivery.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for running day-to-day operations of the business — from project execution to team performance. This role is critical to scaling ClearWay from a founder-led operation into a structured, high-performing company.
You will work directly with the founder and take ownership of execution across all active projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery & Execution
- Own all active projects from kickoff to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at high quality
- Proactively resolve delays, field issues, and client concerns
Scheduling & Dispatch
- Manage technician and subcontractor schedules
- Optimize team utilization and reduce downtime
- Ensure proper job preparation before field execution
Financial Performance
- Track project-level profitability (labor, materials, change orders)
- Control costs and protect margins
- Identify and fix operational inefficiencies
Team Management
- Hire, manage, and develop technicians and subcontractors
- Set performance expectations and enforce accountability
- Build a reliable, high-performing field team
Process & Systems
- Build and implement SOPs across operations (site visits, estimates, installs, inspections)
- Standardize workflows to enable scale
- Work closely with product team to improve ClearWay OS based on real field usage
Permitting & Compliance
- Oversee permitting process and inspections
- Coordinate with utilities (PG&E, city inspectors)
- Ensure all work meets code and safety requirements
Customer Experience
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and reviews
- Handle escalations and complex client situations
- Ensure professional communication across all touchpoints
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in electrical contracting, construction, or similar field
- Experience as Project Manager, Superintendent, or Operations Manager
- Strong understanding of field operations (not just office coordination)
- Experience managing teams and subcontractors
- Ability to own outcomes and operate independently
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with EV charging installations
- Familiarity with permitting in California
- Experience working with utilities (PG&E or similar)
- Exposure to service businesses or high-volume residential/commercial projects
