What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Coordinator Lead position at Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics, Inc.?
The Unit Coordinator Lead through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides quality customer service to patients and families
- Answers phone and assists patients and staff. Relays messages accurately and timely.
- Acts as a resource to nursing, staff and support services.
- Enters orders into computer system and perform various duties as instructed or requested.
- Performs clerical duties as instructed or requested including transcribing, entering or faxing orders and patient information as needed.
- Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.
- Follows procedures for admits, transfer and discharge of patients including entering information into patient records, notifying necessary personnel, ensuring all records are present in chart/computer system.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
- Lead maintains responsibility for all out-patient processes including checking orders for accuracy, obtaining pre-authorizations when required, and scheduling of routine and immediate procedures, infusions, and medication administrations.
- Lead is responsible also for orienting new hires, setting up monthly trainings as necessary, leading monthly UC meetings, and providing feedback to fellow UC’s on attendance, job performance and expectations.
- Lead will communicate regularly with Director of Nursing for any needs and for quality purposes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a medial related field is preferred, but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Full time, 7am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week
