Mermaid - Character Performer

POSITION TITLE: Mermaid

REPORTS TO: Director/Manager/Supervisor of Guest Experience

PERCENTAGE OF FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT: Part time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: No physical limitations

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Costumed mermaids will interact with visitors throughout the day, doing meet and greets and photo opportunities. Mermaids may also take part in birthday parties or special events.

There is no swimming or water involved in this role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Mermaids will be in costume, engaging with guest.

· Keeping in character is of the utmost importance, and required at all times while in costume in guest space.

· Present themselves as happy mermaids at all times.

· Mermaids smile and wave, interact with guests, talk with children and take photos.

· Must enjoy working with children and their families.

• Have extraordinary improvisational speaking skills with the ability to interactive with visitors of all ages.
• Have high levels of enthusiasm and energy.
• Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help others behind the scenes to keep a show on time.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have excellent interaction skills, particularly with children

· Must be able to sit for long periods.

· Have experience working in customer service, preferably as an entertainer

· Must be able to effectively communicate verbally

· Must be capable of working outside for long durations in all temperatures and conditions

· Must be able to work in a fast paced ever changing environment

· Must be available on weekends/holidays and special events as needed

· Owning your own mermaid costume is a plus
