REPORTS TO
Campground Manager and Grand Wizard of Fun.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Provide superior guest service over the telephone and in person, by being enthusiastic, attentive, friendly and helpful.
  • Greet all guests with a positive attitude and a well-groomed appearance, a smile, recognition and a proper KOA uniform and name tag.
  • Handle all guest issues with respect by listening and acknowledging their concern.
  • Follow all KOA guidelines and procedures regarding the handling of registrations, reservations, store sales and refunds.
  • Follow specific KOA cash and credit card handling procedures and properly use the computer, cash register, credit card, and various other front desk equipment.
  • Handle daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled stocking and cleaning programs as requested by the Campground Manager
  • Help host special events and activities such as: Hot dog roasts, camper breakfasts, craft classes ... just to name a few!
  • Promote local attractions, as well as the KOA system, through KOA Rewards, referrals to other KOA locations, and being knowledgeable of all national and local advertising and discount programs.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • All guests are greeted immediately with friendly, helpful and professional guest service delivery.
  • Demonstration of a positive attitude with guests, management, team members, and vendors.
  • Careful and accurate money handling.
  • Promotion of this KOA and entire KOA system.
  • Well-groomed appearance and appropriate, clean KOA uniform and nametag.
  • Attention to detail when taking reservations and/or registering guests.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hear and speak the English language fluently
  • Knowledge of computer and cash register operation
  • Ability to work days, some weekends/holidays
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to respond to telephone calls, hear issues, give direction while viewing computer screens
  • Long periods of standing (80%)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
  • Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Early Shift 8am - 2:30pm

  • 1) Unlock pool gates – It’s time to begin an incredible day!
  • 2) Restrooms – check condition, quick pick up as needed
  • 3) Reset pool furniture: chaise, chairs, ottomans, and umbrellas – SHOWCASE!
  • 4) Blower: pool deck, laundry areas, walkways, putting green, pavilion
  • 5) Check walkways/perimeter of guesthouse: pick up any trash, debris, palm fronds
  • 6) Game room – turn on the TV, put away any games, reset furniture, clean check
  • 7) Pick up trash bags from camper sites
  • 8) Empty dog poo bins. Make sure dispensers have bags. Clean dog pen area.
  • 9) Empty ALL trash cans/trash bins and recycling bins

Late Shift 2:30pm - 8pm

  • 1) Meet with early shift host to get an update of any special priorities
  • 2) Restrooms – check condition, quick pick up as needed
  • 3) Clean Check on pool area, game room, pavilion, putting green, laundry
  • 4) Check Grills – make sure the bottom tray, grease catcher and top grills are clean
  • 5) Check walkways/perimeter of guesthouse: pick up any trash, debris, palm fronds
  • 6) Check all propane tanks; fill low/empty tanks, grills, cabin firepits
  • 7) Keep a lookout for late check in’s
  • 8) Evening close:
  • a. Make sure the building and pool gates are locked and secured.
  • b. Final clean check of restrooms – make sure doors are locked
  • c. Pool area – close umbrellas, put away games, turn off TV and lights
  • d. Put away: golf clubs, golf balls, corn hole bags, flags in holes
  • e. Lock back storage shed. Use chain to close off back area

Both Shifts:

THE CRUIZE…..Throughout your shift drive through the campground and look for opportunities to make our campground environment even better!

  • Dead foliage - Dispose of any palm fronds / dead vegetation
  • Debris - Pick up any trash, any time you see it. Be on the look-out !
  • Help host special events and activities such as: Hot dog roasts, camper breakfasts, craft classes ... just to name a few!
  • Mulch - Rake mulch back into landscapes Add mulch if needed
  • Ruts in the grass – Fix every rut, every time. Hard rake? Add topsoil?
  • Inspect – Look for any safety issues
  • Dumpsters -doors always closed /pick up trash in front of and behind the bins

On Call:

  • 1) Fill Propane
  • 2) Assist with dump station
  • 3) Firewood and ice delivery
  • 4) Fire bowl rental delivery. Document inventory sheet when dropping off/picking up.
  • 5) Landscaping as needed. Raking, weeding, weed-eating, watering, and mulching
  • 6) Meter readings
  • 7) Security – Report all disturbances to the campground manager.
  • 8) Report situations that could affect the health and safety of visitors and report any maintenance items which need immediate attention to the campground manager
  • 9) Reset breakers as needed
  • 10) Camper issues – TV cable, questions
  • 11) Host camper activities and events as needed/assigned by campground manager

Check in’s

  • The goal is to “WOW” our customers! We have one chance to make a first impression. We need to make sure that we take advantage of preparing their site for an amazing camping experience.
  • 1) Make sure the campsite is inspected BEFORE our guests arrive
  • 2) Greet our new guests
  • 3) Bring our guests to the campsite and guide them in
  • 4) Answer any questions they may have regarding the campground
  • 5) Show location of utilities and proper use

Check out’s

  • 1) Turn off breakers
  • 2) Sewer caps are on and tight
  • 3) Pick up campsite as needed
  • 4) As needed: clean out fire pits/grills, return fire bowls, wipe down chairs/tables. Document any missing or damaged items.

Expectations

  • If a guest is within earshot – always greet them!
  • If you see a guest and they are not within earshot - always wave and smile!
