What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist I position at Clearwater Lab?
ClearWater Laboratory is looking for a full-time Chemist I. Course experience in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Environmental Science is preferred. The Chemist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Understanding and following Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) practices and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols
· Maintaining properly annotated bench sheets and logbooks.
· Performing daily and weekly laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
· Preparing reagents and standards.
· Receiving and properly storing wastewater and drinking water samples.
· Performing daily wastewater and drinking water testing within sample holding times.
· Performing routine chemistry testing such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Solids (TS), Total Residual Chlorine (TRC), Specific Conductance, Nitrate, Nitrite, Total Phosphorus, Dissolved Ortho-Phosphorus, pH, and Microbiological Testing (coliform and E. coli).
· Preparing sample bottles with acid preservative.
· Daily cleaning of dishware.
· Maintaining a clean workspace.
· Notifying Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) and/or Lab Director when analytical results are out of control limits.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
