Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for a Machinist, located in Derby, KS. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, maintaining precision and tolerances, and performing quality checks. Additional responsibilities include understanding technical specifications, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with the engineering team to optimize machining processes. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and contributing to the overall efficiency of the production workflow.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC 3, 4, and 5-axis machining equipment
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control processes
- Familiarity with CAD software programs, such as CATIA V5, and simulation tools like Vericut
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of aerospace industry standards and requirements is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with tight tolerances
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in machining is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
