What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist position at Clearwater Cardiovascular Consultants?
We are seeking a Catheterization Laboratory Technologist that will assist physicians in the tasks and responsibilities necessary in the performance of cardiac catheterization, peripheral angiography, peripheral intervention, coronary intervention, and rhythm management procedures. Independently provide excellent patient care pre, during, and post procedure with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will work in our Cath Lab.
What You Will Be Doing
Required: An associate degree or higher in a clinical or scientific field and clinical registration or licensure as one of: RCIS, RN, RRT, RT or licensed Paramedic.
A minimum of three years Cath lab experience and current BLS & ACLS Certification.
The individual must have excellent organizational skills, outstanding attention-to-detail, be highly dependable, and have sound interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED: The ideal candidate will have experience working within a fast-paced and progressive environment performing Cath, PCI, PVI and EP device procedures.
Experience using Philips imaging and hemo-dynamic systems.

What You Will Be Doing
- Maintain and operate Cath lab and recovery equipment.
- Use sterile techniques, set up, maintain the appropriate instrument, and supply table for various procedures performed in the Cath Lab and Hybrid OR.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for Cath lab operations, identifying the need for re-order, as necessary.
- Safely transport patients from preparation area to Cath lab.
- Prepare the patient for and monitor patient during and after Cath lab procedures.
- Assist the physicians in Cath Lab and Hybrid OR procedures, including assisting with injections.
- Maintain and operate image processing equipment.
- Collect, record, and analyze complex physiological and lab data.
- Safely transport patients to recovery and monitor patients during transport.
- Maintain a clean environment in the Cath lab and recovery areas.
- Meet continuing education requirements to maintain license/registration status, or as required by Florida law.
- Check code chart daily for all supplies, drugs, and check defibrillator for charge.
- Perform appropriate quality control measures daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Assist physicians in preparing Cath lab reports and enter data as required.
- Proper disposal of biohazard and waste as regulated by OSHA and the Florida Department of Health.
- Follow radiation safety measures and abide by the department’s Radiation Safety Plan and rules/regulations of the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control.
