Project Engineer – Commercial Audio-Visual Integration
Location: Utah (Wasatch Front)
Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 depending on experience and certifications, plus annual
performance bonus.

Position Summary
The Project Engineer (PE) is a key member of the Operations team responsible for bridging
pre-sales design with project execution. The PE collaborates closely with the Sales
Department’s Pre-Sales Engineer to ensure projects are accurately scoped, resourced, and
technically executed. The role requires a balance of engineering expertise, resource
management, and cross-department communication.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Pre-Sales Engineers to review project designs, scope of work, and bill
of materials (BOM).
Estimate installation and programming labor hours required for each project.
Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams throughout the project
lifecycle.
Assign projects to Project Managers, ensuring proper resource allocation and workload
balance.
Conduct system testing and commissioning on new system designs, verifying all
components integrate seamlessly.
Oversee quality control of Project Managers’ execution and provide mentorship as
needed.
Act as a technical escalation point for complex service or programming issues.
Facilitate cross-department communication between sales, warehouse, purchasing, and
operations teams.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
System Performance & Commissioning Success – % of systems passing acceptance
testing on first attempt.
Timely resolution of engineering and technical issues.
Project Rework Rates – % of engineering changes required after project kickoff.
On-Time Project Delivery – Measured in alignment with Project Managers’ timelines.
Utilization Rate – Target of 72% billable/assignable hours.
Qualifications
Certifications:
CTS required.
CTS-D preferred.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
Other relevant manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Dante) are highly
valued.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent
technical/project experience.
5 years of experience in audio-visual system design, engineering, or project execution.
Strong knowledge of AV signal flow, control systems, DSP configuration, and networking
fundamentals.
Skills:
Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Hands-on troubleshooting and commissioning expertise.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 depending on experience and certifications.
Starting Range: Typically $75,000 – $85,000.
