Duties
- Review and process patient billing information accurately to ensure correct account setup and charge entry
- Follow up on outstanding balances through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence to facilitate prompt payments
- Resolve billing discrepancies by investigating account details and coordinating with clinical staff or insurance providers as needed
- Assist patients with questions regarding their bills, payment options, and insurance claims to promote transparency and trust
- Maintain detailed records of all account activities, including payment history, adjustments, and collection efforts
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, payer policies, and billing guidelines to ensure compliance at all times
Requirements
- Proficient understanding of medical billing and revenue cycle management
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Knowledge of insurance processes, coding procedures, and collection strategies is highly desirable
