Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both commercial and industrial settings.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to maintain the appearance of flooring materials.
- Carry out custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings, ensuring all areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Ensure that restrooms are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies regularly.
- Respond promptly to any cleaning requests or emergencies within the facility.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any needs for replenishment.
- Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing and stripping floors is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within designated time frames.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
- Knowledge of custodial practices and safety procedures is beneficial.
