Fast growing manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment is seeking a Controller to join their team. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting to include project accounting, accounting system design and setup, and ensuring all reporting accurately reflects the financial position of the company. This is a working supervisory role that combines ownership of the company’s accounting function with oversight of HR and office operations. The role requires data entry and hands-on control of the accounting system and processes. The ideal candidate will be an autonomous problem solver with a strong understanding of both accounting and accounting systems technology. This role is well suited for a high-potential, early career professional who wants to grom into a broader leadership role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project and cost accounting; tracking and reporting on the profitably of the company’s jobs
- Management of the company’s accounting system; set up, integration, data entry/use by staff, and process implementation and control
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operational leaders to support data-driven decision-making
- Ensure transactions are recorded properly and internal controls are being followed
- Manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, analysis, cash management, payroll, job costing, and AP/AR
- Perform Bank, credit card, and debt reconciliations
- Lead monthly financial closing and reporting processes
- Lead and Manage the HR and Office personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex problems and take initiative
- Exceptional accounting skills; you must understand the mechanics of accounting, cost accounting principles and their practical application, and how to prepare and use financial statements
- Strong technology skills; you must be capable of taking ownership of the set up and management of a complex ERP accounting system
- Proactive, forward-thinking approach with the ability to anticipate business needs
- Experience with Epicor, Kinetic and/or ERP software, and experience in manufacturing and long-term manufacturing contracts is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MACC or MBA a plus but not required
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) a plus but not required
- String Leadership and Management skills
