Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
- Assist with patient intake and record medical history.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for optometrist.
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as tonometry and retinal imaging.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Assist with frame selection and fitting of eyeglasses.
- Process sales transactions and handle retail math calculations.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records using electronic systems like Epic.
- Follow medical coding and billing procedures for insurance claims.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a front desk or customer service role preferred.
- Strong sales skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Familiarity with retail sales systems and processes.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures is a plus.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
