Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Plan, organize, and execute daily delivery routes efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise using safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Deliver products directly to retail stores or clients, providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships through clear communication.
- Upsell additional products or services during deliveries to increase sales opportunities while meeting customer needs.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pricing adjustments, and client interactions for reporting purposes.
- Follow merchandising standards by organizing products on shelves or displays at retail locations to enhance presentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, route driving, or related transportation roles with a strong understanding of DOT regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team coordination.
- Basic math skills for handling pricing adjustments, inventory counts, and transaction calculations.
- Demonstrated ability in sales techniques, upselling, and customer relationship building to foster loyalty.
- Knowledge of automobile transportation safety practices and heavy lifting procedures.
- Retail store experience is a plus for understanding merchandising standards and client expectations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage routes efficiently, prioritize tasks, and keep detailed logs accurately.
