We are a growing dermatology practice located right off the James Island connector, looking for Medical Assistant to join our team. This environment is a fast-paced, high-volume clinic setting with multiple providers. We are looking for someone with proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting and delivering excellent care to patients.
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Rooming patients, obtain history, consent & vitals when indicated
- Processing and tracking in-house pathology, calling patients with results, and scheduling treatment
- Assisting in skin checks, minor office procedures, and skin cancer surgery
- Performing suture removal, post operative wound checks, and dressing changes
- Setting up surgery trays, sterilizing instruments, drawing up medicines and stocking medical supply inventory
- Support formal and on the job training opportunities for our medical assistant team
Medical Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
- 2 years of working in the healthcare field or comparable education as a medical assistant
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently, especially in fast-paced environments
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong computer/digital skills
- Excellent customer service and patient care skills
- Ability to work well with a team to accomplish day-to-day goals
- Basic understanding of medical terms and processes, including HIPAA regulations, insurance registration, etc.
- Previous dermatology and EMA electronic medical record (EMR) experience highly preferred
Education
- Associate's degree in a medical field and/or equivalent experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
