What are the responsibilities and job description for the Male Youth Mentor – Community-Based Services position at ClearHorizon Forensic and Counseling Group?
Brief Job Description:
The Youth Mentor will provide structured, community-based mentoring and support to assigned youth. Services will focus on developing positive decision-making skills, improving communication, building healthy relationships, increasing engagement in prosocial activities, and assisting youth with identifying and working toward personal, educational, and behavioral goals. The mentor will serve as a positive role model while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and communicating with the treatment team regarding the youth’s progress.
1099 Independent Contractor Position
Primary Service Areas:
Henrico, Richmond, Petersburg, and Hopewell, Virginia
Requirements:
- Male mentor preferred based on the needs of the current youth referrals
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults preferred
- Experience with at-risk or justice-involved youth is strongly preferred
- Ability to establish appropriate professional relationships and serve as a positive role model
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Dependable transportation and willingness to travel throughout assigned service areas
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Ability to complete required documentation within established timeframes
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and organizational onboarding requirements
