Full time Charge Entry Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Charge Entry Specialist to join our medical billing team. This role is responsible for accurately approving, verifying documentation, and ensuring claims are prepared for timely submission. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing processes, and the ability to work efficiently on your own.
Responsibilities included:
Accurately approving charges in our billing system sent by assigned providers from our EHR system.Verify CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for accuracy and proper linkage.
Ensure all required information (modifiers, units, provider details) are included prior to claim submission.
Identify and resolve discrepancies by communicating with providers and staff.
Maintain daily charge entry productivity goalFollow HIPPA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in medical billing/coding preferred.
1-3 years of experience in medical billing or charge entry preferred.
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems.
Familiarity with EHR and billing systems. (Eg: Practice Fusion, Allscripts, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet goals.
Preferred skills:
Understanding insurances rules and guidelines as well as payer requirements.
Strong communication and team work skills
Work Environment:
Remote position/billing office
Pay: $17.00 per hour
