Rare opportunity for a dental assistant to fill a role on our team that is opening for the first time in many, many years!

The right candidate must be a caring and professional dental assistant or EFDA who enjoys building relationships with patients of all ages, while working alongside the doctor and hygienists, to help meet their needs and make them comfortable. Please have experience chairside assisting (expanded function a plus!) with x-ray certification as well as federal background and PA child abuse clearances. New grads considered. This is a full-time position. Pay based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques during a wide range of procedures to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
- Take x-rays ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- For EFDA candidates: place quality restorations and perform expanded functions as permitted by state regulations
- Complete dental lab work and manage lab cases
- Update and maintain dental records with accuracy and thoroughness in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stock, order and organize supplies and materials
- Clean, maintain and care for dental equipment
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures while demonstrating professional customer service
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to all safety standards
- Support the admin team to ensure efficiency, accurate billing, and a great patient experience
Qualifications
- Valid RDA/EFDA certification and/or experience assisting in a dental setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, materials and infection control procedures
- X-ray certification and experience with dental radiography
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Computer and keyboarding proficiency; familiarity with Open Dental is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health as well as collaborate with team members, vendors, and others in a positive and productive manner
- Attention to detail and clinical excellence
- Organized and able to anticipate the needs of patients and providers
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy
- Have or be willing to obtain federal background and PA child abuse clearances
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred but not required
