GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of routine administrative and first-line supervisory duties related to planning, organizing, training staff on center software, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the drop-in daycare program.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Fitness and Daycare Supervisor (FDS).
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Provides training and support to all Childcare Support staff.
Examples Of Duties
Performs in a supporting role the daily operations of the daycare; assist in ensuring that policies and procedures are followed; works with FDS to establishes goals and standards for operations; operates within the guidelines established by the state licensing department; develops and implements activities for children; watches and attends to children; provides a safe and stimulating environment appropriate to children's needs.
Maintains cleanliness of daycare center; oversees the maintenance of daycare equipment, materials, and inventory; accounts for use and disposition of materials and teaching aids; purchases materials as needed.
Maintains daycare center records; records and documents participant information. Makes recommendations for budgeted needs.
Provides a clean, safe, and engaging care environment for children; checks children in and out while providing basic childcare; ensures safe play conditions and follows established security procedures when checking children out; follows established safety procedures, i.e., fire drills, etc.
Greets parents and children; orients parents regarding daycare center procedures; maintains a positive rapport with parents and patrons; follows specific parent instructions regarding feeding and the special needs of children.
Provides first aid to injured children; completes accident reports; and resolves problems and complaints. Must complete 10 hours of annual childcare training as required by the Department of Health Bureau of Licensing for the State of Utah.
Assists in the hiring process; provides staff training; develops work schedules; monitors staff performance and makes recommendations affecting employment status. Assists the FDS in administering yearly employee evaluations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The incumbent perform work in a climate-controlled environment. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain such as walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, stooping, sitting, lifting, and reaching. Must frequently lift and/or move 20 to 50 pounds. Subject to callback in emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school; plus 1-2 years of specialized training or in-service related to child development or related field,
- One (1) responsible experience related to childcare and preschool with six (6) months experience in the supervision of such programs;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must pass a background investigation and fingerprint check.
- Must be able to obtain American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications within 90 days of hire and be able to maintain certification.
- Must complete 10 hours of childcare training as required by the Department of Health Bureau of Licensing for the State of Utah within one (1) year of hire.
