What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Operations Manager position at CLEAResult?
The Technology Operations Manager is an executive-facing role with Chief of Staff–style scope: a strategic and operational extension of the IT Leadership team, driving financial discipline, operational rigor, and scalable execution.
You’ll own executive-level deliverables (operating rhythms, reporting, narratives, and decision support) and influence outcomes across teams—often without direct authority.
This is a high-exposure, high-ownership path for an early-career MBA who wants a fast track toward senior leadership through hands-on execution, clear business impact, and close partnership with IT leadership.
If you’re energized by translating strategy into action, building repeatable systems, and raising the quality of executive decision-making with data and AI-enabled automation, this role is designed for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & License Optimization (Core Anchor)
- Own budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis for the Technology organization
- Analyze and optimize software licenses, vendor spend, and contract utilization
- Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities (true-ups, rationalization, consolidation)
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to strengthen governance, transparency, and spend discipline
- Produce executive-ready reporting and narratives (run-rate, savings, cost-to-achieve)
Operational Execution & Standardization
- Build and maintain standard operating artifacts (status updates, QBR/MBR materials, town hall decks, staff meeting content)
- Run the weekly leadership operating rhythm (agenda, decisions, action tracking, follow-through)
- Continuously improve onboarding materials and processes for new hires
- Drive clarity, repeatability, and high-quality communication across the Technology org
AI & Automation (Force Multiplier)
- Design and deploy AI agents/automation to streamline executive communications, generate reporting and insights, and reduce manual operational work
- Identify and implement high-impact AI use cases across Technology and partner teams
- Continuously evaluate tools/approaches to increase output without increasing headcount
- Establish lightweight governance so AI is used responsibly and effectively at scale
Strategic Execution & Executive Enablement (Chief of Staff–Style Projects)
- Translate leadership priorities into crisp narratives, plans, and deliverables
- Drive cross-functional execution with clear ownership, timelines, and accountability (influence without authority)
- Create executive-ready briefings, updates, and decision support for senior stakeholders
- Surface risks, dependencies, and opportunities early—with recommended actions
- Connect teams to ensure alignment across Technology, Operations, and Growth
Resource & Capacity Visibility
- Support a resource management discipline (capacity, demand alignment, skills-to-work mapping)
- Create visibility into who is working on what—and whether it aligns to priorities
- Enable leadership tradeoff decisions using data—not assumptions
Organizational Intelligence & Insight
- Synthesize signals across delivery, risk, bottlenecks, and sentiment
- Provide clear, fact-based insights and recommendations to leadership
- Reduce surprises through early visibility, proactive communication, and escalation
This role IS:
- A builder of systems, processes, and automation
- An operational and financial operator
- A force multiplier for leadership execution
- A driver of scalable, efficient operating rhythms
This role is NOT:
- A traditional administrative assistant
- A passive coordinator of meetings and notes
- A purely strategic observer without execution ownership
Preferred Background:
- MBA (or equivalent) with strong grounding in strategy, operations, and finance
- Early-career experience in consulting, strategy/ops, finance, analytics, or chief of staff–adjacent roles
- Demonstrated interest in technology, AI, and automation to improve business outcomes
- Strong Excel/data analysis skills; comfortable building models, KPIs, and executive reporting
- Strong stakeholder management and executive presence; exposure to AI copilots/automation platforms is a plus
Core Competencies:
- Analytical rigor across financials, licenses, and operations
- Bias for action (builds, doesn’t wait)
- Operational discipline; creates structure where none exists
- Technical curiosity, especially around AI and automation
- Executive presence: clear communication and decision-ready outputs
- Influence without authority across diverse stakeholders
- Ownership mindset (outcomes > activity)
What Success Looks Like:
- Budgets, licenses, and vendor spend are actively managed and optimized
- Executive priorities move faster because operating materials and decision support are consistently high quality
- AI and automation measurably reduce manual work and increase throughput
- Weekly and monthly operating rhythms are tight, predictable, and effective
- The organization scales impact without proportional headcount growth
- The IT leader’s time stays focused on the highest-value decisions while you accelerate executive priorities
Salary : $117,000 - $174,000
