Job Description

Note – This position requires residency in Pennsylvania. Candidates based in the Pittsburgh area are strongly preferred; candidates elsewhere in Pennsylvania will also be considered.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Senior Program Manager!

This role leads a large-scale commercial & industrial (CNI) energy efficiency program for a major utility client, directing all phases from inception through completion. You'll be the primary client-facing leader for the program — driving performance through the people and functional teams around you, not by doing the work yourself.

What You'll Do

• Direct all phases of the client program, from inception through completion, leading primarily through your team.
• Own the cost, implementation, and performance of the program, including forecasting and financial reporting.
• Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
• Coordinate the preparation of business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of the contract.
• Ensure the program's approach stays aligned with current market trends, program goals, and client needs.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the client to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
• Develop new business or expand the program's scope with the client.
• Analyze problem and opportunity areas within the program and evaluate options.
• Evaluate performance and make recommendations on program and marketing actions.
• Establish milestones, monitor adherence to program plans and schedules, identify problems, and drive solutions — such as reallocating resources or adjusting contractual specifications.
• Determine the profitability and viability of program enhancements.
• Develop strategies to ensure effective program performance relative to market opportunity, working closely with functional groups across the program's life cycle.
• Direct the work of a cross-functional program team spanning technical, marketing, operations, analytics, and administrative areas.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Manage one large program (typically $5–10M in annual revenue without incentives) or a large portfolio of smaller client contracts.
• Contribute to or lead contract creation and execute contracts for compliance and client satisfaction.
• Direct and coordinate a program team of roughly 50 people across multiple functions.
• Direct people management experience, with a span of control of 2–5 direct reports plus contractors (ACWs) — with a track record of delegating to and developing your team rather than doing the work yourself.
• Comfort operating in programs that are strategic and/or carry high complexity and risk — whether that's a new program, a new client, or a complex client relationship.
• Lead process and tool improvement.
• Strong client-facing communication skills — this role is the face of the program to the client and needs to be polished, credible, and responsive in that seat.
• Strong business and financial acumen — comfortable owning forecasting and financial reporting for the program.
• May create technical content and intellectual property.
  
  

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience plus 8 years of project or program management experience.
• 5 years of people management experience.
• Bachelor's degree; MS or MBA preferred.
  
  

Target Compensation

$120,000 - $130,000 / Bonus

DOT Requirements

If applicable, meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Compensation Range

$97,600.00 - $146,400.00
