As a Surgical Specialist, you will work under the supervision of a Dentist and/or Oral Surgeon as their “right hand.” You will support him/her in any and all tasks related to serving patients which may include pre and post operative care. Responsibilities
- Our Advanced Surgical Assistant performs a variety of duties within the center based on the needs of the practice. Below are a few responsibilities that you may hold:
- Help receiving and discharging patients, reviewing medical charts
- Help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal patient care
- Maintain equipment and organization of the surgical center
- Cultivating a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, preparing them for treatment, and obtaining their dental records.
- Providing chair-side assistance and providing pre and post operative care.
- Preparing materials for impressions, taking dental x-rays, as directed by a dentist.
- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, preparing traycas of instruments for procedures, and educating patients on postoperative and general oral health re.
- Handle all substances in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
- Be familiar and comply with all Health and Safety rules and guidance infection control.
- Performing additional office duties as needed to include scheduling and receiving patients, ordering supplies, and records management.
- Additional duties as assigned per state regulations or licensing requirements.
