What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller - SEC Reporting position at ClearBridge Executive Search?
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly global financial close, including general ledger accounting, consolidations, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Oversee key accounting functions including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger activities
- Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements, quarterly disclosures, and supporting documentation
- Lead SOX internal controls over financial reporting, including control design, documentation, testing, compliance, and continuous improvement; serve as the primary contact for external auditors
- Partner with the Corporate Controller on budgeting and forecasting while ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements
- Serve as the Finance ERP subject matter expert, leading implementations, upgrades, integrations, automation, reporting/dashboard development, and cross-functional process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the medical, healthcare, or a closely related industry
- Experience working for publicly traded companies and having SEC filing expertise is a must
- At least 2 years of SEC reporting experience, including preparation and review of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements, and other SEC filings
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
- Proven cross-functional project management and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate financial and reporting initiatives across multiple functions
Salary: $160k - $165k/annum
