The Test Engineer is responsible for providing support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific by supporting the Command and Control Processor Modernization (C2P Mod) testing effort. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by providing C2P and Tactical Data Link (TDL) subject matter expertise in the coordination, execution, analysis and reporting of test events in a controlled testing environment. This position will directly impact US Navy mission and operational readiness through the test and evaluation of a mission critical software program. CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES Ability to perform the following, with guidance: Assist in the set-up, operation, and tear down of the test architecture of various systems and sub-systems. Assist in the execution of test procedures, analysis of test results, and generate final test documentation. Support the troubleshooting of test issues and apply standard troubleshooting techniques to identify the issue with systems, support systems or interfaces. Provide operational support for trouble report resolution activities to include system problem isolation/detection and resolution. Support in the capture and collection of test data of each system and support system. Support in the development of test cases, test procedures and test scripts, as required by the project/program. Provide required periodic input for status report and/or Trouble Report Retest Status (TRRS) to the project lead. Submits all required input on time and with accuracy. Assist with data collection, preliminary data analysis, data removal, data transfer, provide any data analysis information for Test Observation Reports (TORs), and reach back support, as needed. Participate in project-oriented meetings for the management, progression, and or closure of support activities. SKILLS & ABILITIES Foundational understanding of: Common terminology within the scope of the program. This includes accurately utilizing terminology while communicating verbally or written. Test and Evaluation Methodologies Technical Writing Troubleshooting Standard computer-based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point) EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS GED and/or equivalent years of experience Preferred (BS STEM Degree) TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS General office environment Computer/Equipment lab PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS May be expected to lift up to 25 lbs Frequent use of keyboard and typing Frequent sitting and standing WORK SCHEDULE 9/80 The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements. PAY RANGE $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually, DOE U.S. Citizenship is Required SECURITY CLEARANCE Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
