Mechanical Ground Support Equipment Engineer (Early-Career) - Millennium Space Systems Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Mechanical Ground Support Equipment Engineer (Early-Career) to support the Engineering team in El Segundo, CA! Job Summary As a Satellite Support MGSE Engineer you will be responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical test, integration and assembly fixtures, and creating part/assembly drawings to assist in the assembly and testing of our satellite systems. You will work closely with other engineering teams, such as: ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Ops), program management, and manufacturing to understand component and satellite design to develop integration, test and assembly fixtures, and MGSE assembly drawings on schedule and within budget. This position's internal job code is Equipment & Tool Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for the Levels 1-2. Position Responsibilities: * Design mechanical test and assembly fixtures per provided design requirements

- Compile complete hardware design documentation for test and assembly fixtures, including part and assembly drawings, drawing notes, bill of materials and other associated documentation as needed
- Coordinate with programs on schedules, risks, and budgets for all MGSE mechanical designs
- Coordinate with manufacturing on EBOMs & MBOMs, released engineering, work orders, and discrepancy reports
- Support procurement team and vendors with RFQs, POs, and other associated documentation to ensure timely
- Interface with other subsystems for guidance on MGSE designs, including spacecraft mechanical design team, ATLO, propulsion, systems, etc
- Provide ongoing support on developed hardware
- Other duties as assigned
- 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent working experience
- Methodical design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Must be versatile and able to perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Experience using Solidworks or similar CAD software
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Experience with mechanical analysis software
- Experience with environmental test equipment and chambers including Random Vibration, Thermal Oven, and Thermal Vacuum Oven
- Experience working in a machine shop environment, including familiarity with lathes, mills, CNC, Drill presses, laser/water jets, etc
- Experience designing fixtures for manufacturing and test
- Experience with satellite environmental test programs per NASA and MIL-STD requirements
- Experience with early life-cycle satellite engineering activities, spacecraft integration and test, and launch operations
- Knowledge of operational safety requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance
