Qualifications & Compensation: 8 years of backend or full stack software engineering experience (or 12 years without a degree); total compensation is approximately $259,440 per year. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Strong experience with Java, including design, debugging, and problem solving for production systems. Experience developing RESTful web applications and services using frameworks such as Spring Boot. Experience working with MongoDB or similar database technologies and implementing automated testing. Preferred: experience with JavaScript UI development, Python, Apache Kafka, Linux administration, and automated build/CI/CD pipelines. Job Description: Develop and maintain Java microservice web applications that support a larger microservice ecosystem with several UIs. Work closely with the technical lead on system design decisions, architecture choices, and the product roadmap. Resolve challenging software engineering and design problems in a fast-moving, feature-driven development environment. Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, data access layers, and integrations with backend services and data stores. Support testing and deployment of production applications, including troubleshooting issues across environments. Interact frequently with the customer to clarify requirements, address issues, and propose new features or enhancements. Collaborate with a highly team-oriented group of engineers, contributing ideas that influence system design and mission capabilities.
