AV VTC Technician with Security Clearance

Overview: The AV VTC Technician requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in VTC and/or system administration. The role involves daily management of off-site VTC and conference room systems, scheduling VTCs with external sites, and troubleshooting technical issues. The technician is responsible for ensuring the functionality of VTC equipment, supporting conferences, and resolving any issues that arise during operations. This position also includes mentoring junior technicians, maintaining government asset inventory, and performing user training. Job Summary:

• Responsible for daily management of off-site VTC and Conference Room systems, such as scheduling VTC with external sites.
• Resolve problems and configure rooms to meet requirements for scheduled conferences.
• Perform video capturing and transfers to a media streaming server.
• Operate and troubleshoot VTC and conference room equipment, initiating trouble tickets for external support when needed.
• Perform routine performance testing to ensure VTC equipment operates at optimal performance and capacity.
• Serve as a Tier 3 technician, handling uncommon incidents or requests outside the standard scope.
• Support VTC and Presentation Conferences, verifying functionality, assisting with setup, and troubleshooting during conferences.
• Perform spot checks of equipment to verify functionality on a scheduled basis.
• Troubleshoot Codec hardware, network, VLAN, software configurations, and inter-device connections.
• Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Provide user training and mentor junior VTC technicians.
• Staff the help desk or visit customer locations throughout the facility as needed.
• Maintain an accurate and complete government asset inventory.
• Other duties as assigned. Requirements Skills & Abilities:
• Ensure compliance with command training and employment requirements in accordance with all established policies and guidelines.
• Complete orientation and competency verification programs in line with departmental guidelines.
• Participate in functions and meetings as assigned, providing relevant and timely information to assist with decision-making and process improvement.
• Engage in customer service initiatives and training when required.
• Assist with the orientation, training, and performance evaluation of newly assigned personnel as appropriate.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while fostering a cohesive team environment. Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years' experience in VTC and/or system administration, preferably with DHA experience.
• Experience with project management, time management, and coordination skills. Certification(s):
• Security CE or higher, and a Computing Environment (CE) certification (e.g., Help Desk Management). Clearance:
• Must have a Confidential or Public Trust security clearance and be able to maintain.
