MDA is seeking an Associate Electronics Hardware Design Engineer / Electronic Hardware Design Engineer. This position is located at Beavercreek, OH. (Dayton, OH) Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform design and development of complex high speed digital circuit card assemblies integrating FPGAs and microprocessors through high-speed serial networks
  • Take designs from concept through schematic capture, layout, assembly, debug, and production test
  • Collaborate with peers and other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, and prototyping of complex digital systems
  • Identify and implement risk reduction activities for your projects
  • Interface with vendors and contractors
  • Advise others through design reviews and implementation of industry best practices
  • Work under general direction to independently determine and develop viable solutions
  • Define system and CCA level specifications from dynamic, loose requirements This position will serve 100% on-site in Beavercreek, OH. There is no remote work. This position can be filled as an Associate Advanced Electronic Hardware Design Engineer or an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer Basic Qualifications for Associate Electronic Hardware Design Engineer:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Hands on use of laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators
  • Ability to solder and modify prototypes to prove a working design
  • Ability to create test plans and assembly instructions
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary level of US Government security clearance per customer requirements Basic Qualifications for Electronic Hardware Design Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
  • Hands on use of laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators
  • Ability to solder and modify prototypes to prove a working design
  • Ability to create test plans and assembly instructions
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary level of US Government security clearance per customer requirements Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Full custom circuit card design cycle (concept through production) experience involving FPGAs, DDR memory, high speed serdes, and microprocessors
  • Experience defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors/microcontrollers
  • Experience with test equipment such as DMM, BERT scopes, network analyzers and signal analyzers
  • Schematic capture and layout using Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools
  • High speed digital signal integrity simulation using Hyperlynx, HFSS, or ADS
  • Experience developing embedded software and software using C, C
  • Experience RTL development using SystemVerilog
  • Familiarity with AMD FPGAs and design tools
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Project leadership Primary Level Salary Range: $69,300.00 - $103,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
